Description: Our client is currently seeking a Operations Manager
This candidate must be able to travel between York and Allentown, PA

Essential Functions / Duties

Manage Resources

  • Monitor and manage utilization of equipment allocated across regions.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation between regions to support project and operational needs.
  • Coach and provide subject‑matter expertise to substation projects and regional teams to help achieve company, divisional, and regional goals.
  • Collaborate with estimators, project managers, owners, engineers, and subcontractors to address project performance, including evaluating the need for additional staffing support.

Keep Score

  • Monitor key safety indicators and collaborate with the Safety & Quality Department.
  • Attend all division focus job meetings.
  • Participate in all focus pre‑bid, pre‑construction, and post‑construction meetings.
  • Monitor work quality to ensure all division work meets or exceeds contract specifications and quality standards.
  • Review project documentation to ensure appropriate correspondence, reporting, and recordkeeping are maintained.

Provide Leadership and Expertise

  • Foster and maintain a safe, positive, energetic, and forward‑thinking work environment.
  • Participate in the safety committee and work with the Director of Safety & Quality to promote an incident‑free workplace by eliminating at‑risk behaviors.
  • Model and communicate corporate values, policies, and procedures in all business interactions.
  • Recommend updates or revisions to policies, procedures, or work methods when needed to address unique situations or improve performance.
  • Represent the division—when requested by regional management—with customers, partners, and industry associations.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to identify issues, monitor progress, ensure specification compliance, and verify quality of work.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop the annual budget, including capital expenditures aligned with the business plan.

Education, Skills & Experience

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a journeyman electrician in substation construction.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive responsibility in electrical construction, including demonstrated ability to:
    • Lead field employees in core process adherence
    • Execute large‑scale projects (>$10M)
    • Work effectively with IBEW unions

Other

  • Secondary education from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CUSP, PMP, PE).
