Operations Manager - Cell Tower Construction & Service
Location: Huntingdon Valley, PA
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations for our wireless infrastructure projects, including raw-land tower construction, modifications, maintenance, and service work. This role is responsible for coordinating crews and subcontractors, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and serving as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily field operations for cell tower construction, maintenance, and service projects.
- Manage project schedules, labor planning, subcontractors, and material/logistics coordination.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to customer and company standards.
- Review construction drawings, structural information, scopes of work, and project deliverables.
- Monitor site safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance, and escalate or resolve issues quickly.
- Track project progress, reporting, closeout documentation, and tower asset records.
- Serve as the operational contact for clients, carriers, vendors, and general contractors.
- Support troubleshooting for outages, service tickets, and FAA lighting or power-related issues where applicable.
- Develop and improve operational procedures, KPIs, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in wireless, telecommunications, or tower operations/project management.
- Experience managing field crews, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Knowledge of tower construction methods, structural standards, and wireless site maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints/construction drawings and prepare scopes of work.
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, telecommunications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA tower safety practices, fall protection requirements, and RF awareness.
- First Aid/CPR/AED, OSHA 10, or tower industry safety training knowledge.
- Experience with FAA lighting compliance, site documentation, and closeout processes.
Compensation
- $120k - $140K based on experience
- Additional performance-based bonus; Earn up to $160k+.
