We're an owner-led concrete restoration company, and we're hiring our first Operations Manager. This person will be the owner's right hand. We have no layers of middle management on purpose: the person running our crews should talk to the person making decisions every day, not through a chain of approvals. You'll lead our field operations across DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia, help decide which work we go after, and have a real say in how the company grows. This is a field role. Expect about four days a week on job sites and one flexible day to catch up, from wherever works for you.
About the Firm
We repair, protect and waterproof parking structures, and that's all we do. We stay focused because garages are hard work: the structures are occupied, the repairs are technical, and many jobs run overnight so we don't shut a building down. We've built our reputation one garage at a time across the DMV, working with the engineers and owners who trust us with their buildings. A lot of our competitors have been bought by private equity in recent years. We chose to stay independent, so decisions are made by people who know the work and stand on the job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Lead our four field crews and work directly with superintendents and foremen to keep every job moving
Visit active sites throughout the week, solve problems on the spot, and move people and equipment where they're needed
Join the owner at progress meetings with clients and engineers
Walk prospective projects and attend bid meetings to help decide which work we take on
Keep an eye on job costs and schedules so each project finishes the way it was planned
Build relationships with the engineering firms, property managers and owners who shape the garage repair market
Qualifications
Several years with a specialty concrete repair or restoration contractor, ideally focused on parking garages or other structural concrete
Hands-on knowledge of garage repair work such as slab and column repair, post-tensioning, traffic coatings, joints and sealants
A track record of running multiple crews or projects at the same time
You already live in the DC/Baltimore region and like spending your days in the field, including some night shifts
Relationships with local structural engineers, owners or property managers are a strong plus
ICRI certification or OSHA 30 is welcome
What We Offer
Base salary of $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience
A company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, whichever you prefer
Direct access to ownership and real influence over operations and growth
One flexible day each week
The stability of an established local company, without the corporate overhead
