Operations Manager
We are one of San Jose's premier subcontractors with a focus on commercial tenant improvements and interior renovations. We are looking to bring on an Operations Manager to our team to lead our growing group of junior project engineers before they take the step to project management. The ideal person has a background coming from a general contractor or subcontractor with some prior experience as a project engineer or project manager themselves. The Operations Manager will be responsible for driving project performance, ensuring operational excellence, mentoring emerging talent, and supporting the successful delivery of multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. What You Will Do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Junior Project Engineers.
- Provide guidance on project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Oversee multiple construction projects to ensure they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, and subcontractors to drive successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project performance and help resolve challenges before they impact schedules or budgets.
- Support process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.
- Assist with resource planning, staffing, and workload management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction industry experience.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring project teams.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
