Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Operations to lead and scale our restoration business. This role is critical to our growth strategy as we expand from $5M to $10M in annual revenue. The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to drive production, accountability, and performance across teams.

This position will oversee all aspects of production, including project management, estimating, and field operations, while ensuring excellence in execution, data tracking, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across emergency services, asbestos abatement, and reconstruction divisions
  • Drive production performance through data, KPIs, and financial metrics
  • Ensure all projects are executed efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with company standards
  • Lead team accountability across Project Managers, Estimators, and Field Staff

Performance & Accountability

  • Establish and enforce clear expectations, metrics, and reporting structures
  • Hold team members accountable to job duties, timelines, and system updates
  • Monitor job costing, margins, and production efficiency using internal systems and reporting tools
  • Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements

Estimating & Financial Oversight

  • Review and interpret Xactimate and Symbility estimates
  • Develop and oversee Excel-based Time & Materials estimates for insurance-related work
  • Ensure accuracy and profitability across all estimates and job budgets

Systems & Data Management

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of existing software systems
  • Drive adoption of systems and enforce timely, accurate data entry
  • Create, maintain, and improve Excel-based tools, reports, and dashboards (including formulas and automation)

Team Development & Hiring

  • Lead recruiting efforts and play a key role in hiring top talent
  • Mentor and develop team members to improve performance and leadership capability
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement

Customer Experience

  • Maintain and reinforce a high standard of customer service across all divisions
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of each project

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the restoration industry, including:

  • Emergency services

  • Asbestos abatement (Plus)

  • Reconstruction

  • Proven leadership experience managing operations, production teams, and multiple departments

  • Strong understanding of commercial and residential restoration projects

  • Expertise in Xactimate and Symbility, T&M

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, reporting, data analysis)

  • Highly analytical with the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and performance across teams

  • Experience with hiring, recruiting, and team development
