Job Description

The Pharmacy Shift Supervisor leads daily shift operations in a pharmacy setting, ensuring productivity, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met. This role supervises and supports pharmacy staff, maintains efficient workflows, and serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues during assigned shifts. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of operations, build leadership experience in a highly regulated and essential industry, and contribute to a stable, growing environment with clear processes and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily shift operations within the pharmacy to ensure productivity, quality, and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
• Supervise, coach, and support pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflow, high performance, and strong team morale.
• Monitor staffing levels throughout the shift, assign work appropriately, and adjust priorities to meet changing operational demands.
• Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and safety standards at all times.
• Act as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts for operational issues, questions, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify process improvements, enhance operational efficiencies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the training, onboarding, and development of new team members to ensure they understand procedures, expectations, and performance standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and shift reporting, capturing key operational metrics, issues, and handoff information for the next shift.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in a regulated or fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience leading teams and providing day-to-day supervision and coaching.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workflows, balance workloads, and resolve operational challenges in real time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with staff and leadership.
• Sound decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and address issues under time pressure.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with broader leadership direction and organizational goals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a highly regulated industry, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or similar environments.
• Experience in environments with defined processes, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
• Interest in building long-term leadership experience within an essential service industry.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Work Environment

Shift: 4pm - 12am Monday - Friday.

This role operates in a structured pharmacy environment with clearly defined processes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Work is shift-based, and the Pharmacy Shift Supervisor serves as the key operational contact during assigned shifts. The environment is fast-paced yet stable, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and teamwork. You will work closely with pharmacy staff and leadership, leveraging established workflows and documentation practices to maintain smooth operations and consistent service quality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfield, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
