    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Program Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for provides leadership and administrative management of residential treatment and for adolescents and/or adults. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the recovery support services and facility services for the Residential Treatment Center. The Operations Manager reports to the Program Director and exercises independent judgment and discretion as they perform the following.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In addition to all components of the above position summary the following ?Essential Duties and Responsibilities? are essential to successful performance in this position

    People

    • Direct recovery support and facility staff relations, including supervision, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, staff evaluations, corrective actions, and recommending termination.
    • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates residential meetings, various celebrations, i.e., sessions, seminars, morning meetings.
    • Creates and maintains recovery support and facility staff work schedules.
    • Participates in the planning and implementation of training programs for the development of recovery support and facility staff Phoenix House staff.

    Quality

    • Coaches, documents and monitors employees' implementation of contingency management program and assures appropriate levels of consequences are given for program violations.
    • Ensures the program participant care approach of Trauma-informed milieu by monitoring and the following activities (Job functions, Case Load Activities, Mealtimes, Personal Hygiene, Morning Wake up, Bedtime and all (un) scheduled activities.)
    • Ensure accurate patient documentation, including admissions, discharges, passes, behavioral issues within the milieu.
    • Oversees shift change processes and procedures.
    • Works with the Clinical Director to review and provide information or input regarding transition planning.
    • Responsible for all recovery support service quality assurance, quality record-keeping using an electronic health record and health and safety of unit and patients and staff. Documentation utilizing an electronic health record system is required.
    • Works with the Clinical Director to review complaints made by patients and decide upon the action to be taken to handle the complaint.
    • Adheres to the professional ethics and conduct of standards as established by professional licensure, the policies of Phoenix House, and legal, funding, and regulatory requirements.

    Performance

    • Manages staff labor costs of recovery support and facility staff.
    • Reviews daily units of service to ensure contract billable service requirements are met or exceeded by recovery support and facility.

    Facilities

    • Oversees the performance of all scheduled visual and physical inspections of the facility. These areas will include, outside perimeters (parking lot), kitchen area, all common areas (lounges, dayroom, and visitor's restroom) and program participants living areas. These inspections will be scheduled every hour during an 8-hour shift.
    • Oversee the transportation of program participants in the company vehicle to scheduled court appearances, doctors' appointments, other off-site appointments, and events.
    • Ensures the efficient day to day function of the entire facility.
    • Collaborates with the management team to recommend and implement Capital Improvement Projects.
    • Manage vendor relationships, produce proposals, seek multiple quotes, review purchase orders and maintain vendor certificates of insurance.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The incumbent in this position supervisors lower level staff

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field or Certified AOD Counselor required
    • AMFT or ACSW registered with BBS a plus
    • At least two years of leadership and management experience in a SUD residential treatment center or similar setting required
    • Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy

    • Must show an aptitude for service and for working as part of a team

    • Ability to model positive behavior and demeanor
    • Understanding of addiction, co-occurring models, and treatment modalities
    • Understanding of patient development and family systems
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to be flexible; problem solver, self-directed; customer service-oriented, and collaborative
    • Skills and ability to engage and develop a rapport with patients and families of various backgrounds
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
