Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee project execution, coordination, shipping, and installation operations for a growing manufacturing organization in Kennesaw, GA.

This position will lead a team of approximately 4–5 employees and serve as a key operational link between Sales, Project Management/Engineering, Design, Production, Shipping, and Installation.

The ideal candidate comes from a manufacturing environment, particularly one involving custom products, fabrication, project-based production, or installation. Candidates with strong operations leadership experience in construction or installation-based businesses will also be considered.

This is a highly visible role for someone who can keep multiple projects moving, hold teams accountable, identify problems before they become delays, and ensure commitments to customers are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects from sales handoff through production, shipping, installation, and final completion
• Lead and manage approximately 4–5 direct reports
• Establish priorities, expectations, and accountability across the team
• Monitor project schedules, workloads, deadlines, and resource requirements
• Coordinate across Sales, Design, Production, Shipping, Installation, and other internal departments
• Identify potential scheduling, production, shipping, or installation issues before they impact customers
• Resolve operational problems and remove roadblocks affecting project execution
• Review project priorities and allocate resources based on customer commitments and production schedules
• Support team members with escalated customer, production, scheduling, shipping, and installation issues
• Coordinate installation schedules, available resources, and equipment readiness
• Monitor shipping and installation performance, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence
• Ensure project documentation, communication, and closeout activities are completed accurately and on time
• Assist with month-end invoicing and project completion requirements
• Conduct regular employee check-ins, coaching, performance management, and development
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, accountability, and operational efficiency
• Serve as an escalation point when projects fall behind schedule or encounter operational problems

Qualifications

• Previous operations leadership experience in manufacturing strongly preferred
• Construction, fabrication, installation, or other project-based operations experience will also be considered
• Previous experience supervising or leading employees
• Strong understanding of project execution, scheduling, prioritization, and resource planning
• Experience coordinating work across multiple departments or functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple active projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to identify operational risks and develop practical solutions
• Comfortable holding employees accountable for performance, deadlines, quality, and communication
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with customers and resolving escalated issues
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general business systems

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Relevant hands-on leadership and operations experience will be strongly considered.

You should be comfortable switching between people management, project execution, production priorities, shipping issues, installation scheduling, and customer escalations throughout the day.
