This Search Is for Operators—Not Seat Fillers

We’re partnering with the ownership and management team of a boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan to help them strengthen their property leadership roster with an Operations Manager who leads from the floor, not behind a desk. This property blends authentic New York energy with an intimate guest experience, anchored by a destination restaurant and lounge. Guests don’t just stay here—they feel it. And the leadership team knows that experience lives or dies with operations.

That’s why they’re hiring deliberately.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $73,000–$75,000
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off

Beyond the package, this role offers real growth potential. The management company behind the property is expanding nationally and is known for developing leaders from within—this position is a clear stepping stone for operators ready for what’s next.

The Assignment

Our client is seeking a hands‑on Operations Manager to help lead the Rooms Division, overseeing Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering, and serving as a visible, decisive presence in daily hotel operations.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations and step in as the senior operational leader when needed—keeping the rhythm of the hotel steady, the team supported, and the guest experience sharp.

This role is ideal for someone who believes:

Great operations aren’t a checklist—they’re a living system shaped by people, pace, and decisions.

What You’ll Own Day to Day

  • Lead daily Rooms Division operations with a guest‑first, highly visible approach
  • Support and coach Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering leaders
  • Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty and senior leader during Director absences
  • Be present in public spaces during peak periods—leading by example
  • Ensure service standards, inspections, and compliance are consistently met
  • Partner on staffing support, scheduling, and daily operational pacing
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and deep‑clean programs

Balance guest satisfaction, team engagement, and operational discipline in a fast‑paced boutique environment

Who Our Client Wants on Their Property Team

This search is for a hospitality operator, not just a manager.

Strong candidates typically bring:

  • Supervisory experience in a lifestyle or luxury hotel environment
  • Solid understanding of Rooms Division operations
  • Confidence making real‑time decisions under pressure
  • Comfort working with reports, basic analytics, and financial data
  • A calm, professional communication style with guests and staff alike
  • The ability to solve problems without losing the human side of hospitality

Experience That Sets You Up for Success

Candidates will meet one of the following:

  • 1+ year of progressive experience in a lifestyle or luxury hotel Rooms Department
  • OR a 4‑year degree plus 1 year of Rooms hotel experience
  • OR a 2‑year degree plus 2 years of Rooms hotel experience

Required:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Weekend availability

Preferred:

  • FSD Certification

Why This Role Is Open

They’re investing in their property roster. They want someone who:

  • Takes pride in running a tight operation
  • Wants to be seen, trusted, and relied upon
  • Is building a long‑term career in boutique hospitality leadership
