The Operations Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end execution of manufacturing operations at a growing Newark‑based facility. This leader owns shop floor performance, people development, safety, and process discipline while partnering closely with engineering, quality, and corporate stakeholders.

Description

  • Lead all day‑to‑day onsite manufacturing operations and ensure smooth execution across departments
  • Manage and coach multiple department leaders, including Quality and Engineering, to drive accountability and performance
  • Set operational priorities to meet production, delivery, cost, and quality objectives
  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor to identify issues, remove bottlenecks, and support teams
  • Partner closely with supply chain, finance, and engineering to align production plans and business goals
  • Establish and reinforce a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee capacity planning, workforce planning, and equipment utilization
  • Support capital investment decisions, including new equipment and process upgrades
  • Review operational metrics and implement corrective actions when targets are missed
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards

Profile

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing operations role within a regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of machining operations, including both CNC and manual processes
  • Experience managing managers and leading cross‑functional teams
  • Understanding of the end‑to‑end manufacturing process, from design and engineering through final production
  • Background in aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational discipline, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Comfort working closely with technical teams and communicating with non‑technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and standard manufacturing tools
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; practical experience is highly valued
  • Ability to work full‑time onsite and support early‑morning operational meetings
