SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager oversees daily banking operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high member service standards while managing staff and coordinating with various departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily Operations Management: Oversee the daily functions of the bank, including member service, lending, compliance, fraud, and account operations, ensuring efficient operations across all departments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all banking activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, conducting regular audits and staff training to maintain compliance standards.
- Policy and Procedure Implementation: Provides development, implementation, and oversight of credit union Policies and Procedures management process, including direct responsibility of policies and procedures as assigned.
- BSA Officer: May act as credit union BSA Officer overseeing high-risk areas, such as customer identification, currency transactions, suspicious activity reports, wire transfers, and regulatory reporting. A BSA officer also analyzes data and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Debit and Credit Card Operations: Manages Debit Card and Credit Card operations including account set-up, monitoring applications, exceptions, and fraud activity.
- Information Security and Technology: Manages internal and external resources and systems to ensure the credit union’s Information Technology is monitored, updated, audited, tested as required by regulatory guidance and to keep credit union and members’ data safe.
- Manages content, ensures timely maintenance, and develops the credit union digital banking platforms through third party vendors including Mobile Platform, Online Platform, and the Credit Union website .
- Manages Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Programs.
- Risk Management: Directly oversees Operational, Compliance, and Security Risk at the credit union, ensuring all credit union risk assessments are performed annually.
- Audit Management: Acts as lead for audits, reviews, and exams by third parties and regulatory agencies.
- Additional Responsibilities: Completes other duties as assigned.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate efforts and improve overall credit union services, including marketing all products and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education, Experience, Knowledge:
- Requires bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 or more years of work experience in financial institution operations and compliance, products and services.
- Excellent member service skills, with strong and effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- A positive, professional image and a high degree of confidentiality within the workplace.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- BSA Officer Certification preferred
- Credit Union Compliance Expert designation (or equivalent) preferred

Special Requirements:
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Fluent in the English language required. Additionally fluent in written and verbal Lithuanian, Latvian, and/or other Baltic country languages preferred.
Computer Skills
- Level of computer skills needed to accomplish the essential duties of the job, including, but not limited to, core banking system software, computer software required such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Windows based spreadsheets/word processing, accounting software, ability to use various company software packages.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs preferred.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry-out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Analytical Skills
- Ability to process and analyze vague, abstract verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas and develop structured plans for implementation of marketing plans.
- Ability to read, analyze complex documents, and communicate analysis in oral and written form.
Equipment
- Experience using the equipment required for the job.
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office). May involve driving personal vehicle to credit union related events and appointments. Must have valid driving licenses and insurances. Mileage reimbursement paid by CLCU for credit union travel (other than commuting to/from CLCU).
