A fast-growing freight brokerage company is seeking an Operations Manager to join the team. This is an on-site role in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with opportunities to make a direct impact at a growing organization. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily brokerage operations, carrier management, customer service performance, and load execution to ensure efficient and profitable transportation solutions.

Salary + Additional Benefits:

  • $72,000–$75,000
  • Commission + Bonus

Location: Southlake, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily freight brokerage operations including load planning, tracking, dispatch, and issue resolution.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of freight shipments from tender to delivery.
  • Ensure all loads are covered efficiently while maximizing profitability and service levels.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, service failures, or carrier issues.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Supervise and mentor operations coordinators, dispatchers, and carrier sales representatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and ongoing employee development.
  • Establish productivity goals and operational KPIs for team members.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused work environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shippers, and customers.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers and customers.
  • Resolve escalated customer and carrier concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of previous experience in freight brokerage operations required
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of load planning, dispatch, carrier management, and freight execution
  • Experience negotiating rates and service agreements with carriers and customers
  • Proven ability to develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
