About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead a rapidly growing environmental services and advanced manufacturing organization focused on transforming the electronics recycling industry through innovative automation technologies.
The company leverages proprietary robotic systems, artificial intelligence, and advanced engineering to automate the processing and disassembly of electronic waste. By replacing traditional recycling methods with precision robotic solutions, the organization improves worker safety, maximizes material recovery, and supports a more sustainable circular economy.
This is a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, technology-driven organization at a critical stage of growth. The ideal candidate is a mechanically inclined leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building teams and systems, and can effectively balance operational execution with long-term business objectives.
As Operations Manager, you will provide daily leadership and support to a diverse workforce while driving productivity, efficiency, safety, and profitability. You will play a key role in scaling operations, optimizing workflows, and helping the organization transition from manual processes to increasingly automated production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee daily operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable production activities.
Manage the integration of advanced robotic automation with variable incoming electronic materials and processing requirements.
Build, mentor, and develop supervisors and operational teams to support continued growth and operational excellence.
Evaluate, improve, and standardize workflows, systems, and production processes.
Partner closely with shop floor leadership to drive productivity, quality, and profitability.
Maintain facility operations, grounds, equipment, and security requirements.
Develop expertise in and effectively utilize the company's ERP system.
Gain a strong understanding of the electronic devices being processed and the value streams generated through material recovery.
Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of operations management experience in manufacturing, industrial processing, recycling, automation, or a related environment.
Experience utilizing ERP systems and production management software.
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, implementation, and execution.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet operational deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with electronic devices and a working knowledge of IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), electronics recycling, or asset recovery operations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on within an operational environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
Understanding of financial performance metrics, including profit and loss statements, capital investments, and return on investment (ROI).
Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Willingness to travel as required.
What We're Looking For:
The successful candidate is more than an operations manager-they are a builder, coach, and leader who can develop systems, improve processes, and inspire teams. This role is ideal for someone who embraces change, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and is excited about helping scale an innovative business that is shaping the future of sustainable electronics processing.
