Role Overview

The Operations Manager owns a single restoration market and is accountable for its revenue, profitability, and field execution. This is a player-coach role, not a desk role. The strongest Operations Manager is also the strongest Project Manager in the market and personally runs the largest and most complex emergency mitigation (EMS) losses. Success is measured by market growth, field leadership, job quality, and new account development.

Core Responsibilities

Market P&L and Growth

  • Drive market revenue toward its annual goal through field leadership, subcontractor management, and job throughput
  • Own gross margin performance across all divisions in the market (EMS/mitigation, sub-K, construction/rebuild)
  • Maintain job quality, GP%, and customer satisfaction across the book of business

Field and Project Leadership

  • Serve as lead Project Manager on the market's largest and most complex EMS losses
  • Manage subcontractors and field crews to protect schedule, margin, and quality
  • Enforce company SOP standards for billing, AR, and job costing on every job

Business Development

  • Actively onboard new EMS/Core accounts and grow the market's referral base
  • Develop and maintain relationships across core service, sub-contract, and construction/rebuild channels
  • Meet and grow annual new-account sales targets that scale with tenure

Operations and Reporting

  • Operate within company SOPs for billing, accounts receivable, and job costing
  • Manage collections against defined timelines
  • Communicate proactively with leadership on pipeline, disputes, and operational issues

Required Qualifications

  • Proven operations or project management experience in insurance restoration, mitigation, or construction
  • Hands-on field experience running emergency mitigation and/or large loss projects
  • Working knowledge of restoration estimating and job-costing standards
  • Track record of managing subcontractors and crews to margin and schedule
  • Business development instinct and a willingness to personally generate new accounts
  • Ability to own a market's numbers and lead from the field, not the desk

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple divisions (mitigation, contents, reconstruction)
  • Familiarity with estimating platforms (Xactimate, Symbility) and IICRC standards
  • Large loss and CAT response experience
  • Existing referral relationships with carriers, adjusters, or TPAs in the market

What Success Looks Like

An Operations Manager who hits market revenue targets, keeps gross margin healthy across divisions, runs the biggest EMS jobs personally, and consistently brings in new accounts. This role rewards execution and offers a direct, uncapped path to grow total compensation through market performance, personal sales, and field production.
