Operations Manager – Air Systems Components (Tarboro, NC)
This role is responsible for leading all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met. The Operations Manager will oversee production teams, coordinate with support departments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage all plant operations to meet production schedules and customer demand.
Allocate resources (manpower, equipment, materials) to optimize output and efficiency.
Drive performance in safety, quality, cost, and delivery through Lean Manufacturing principles.
Develop and execute strategic operating plans, including capital projects and process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on goals.
Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions for improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Champion employee development, engagement, and training initiatives.
Maintain effective communication across all departments and shifts.
Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve productivity.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field or additional years or manufacturing leadership experience in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations.
Proven leadership experience managing multi-shift teams in a plant environment.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to analyze operational data and implement effective solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MRP systems preferred.
Preferred
Formal training in problem-solving and operational analysis.
Experience leading large capital projects from concept to completion.
Familiarity with safety programs and regulatory compliance standards.
Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to a manufacturing setting with moderate noise levels. The role requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
