Operations Manager (Traffic Signals, Lighting & ITS)

Operations Manager | Traffic Signals, Roadway Lighting & ITS | Metro Atlanta, GA

Lead operations for a transportation infrastructure group delivering traffic signal, roadway lighting, ITS, utility, and related public infrastructure projects throughout Metro Atlanta. You’ll oversee multiple active projects while leading project and field teams, financial performance, resources, and execution from award through closeout.

• Specialized work includes traffic signals, roadway lighting, ITS, utilities, and related transportation infrastructure.
• Strong project backlog with long-term opportunities for experienced operations leaders.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day operations across multiple active projects.
• Manage and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
• Oversee safety, quality, schedule, cost, profitability, staffing, and client performance.
• Review budgets, committed costs, forecasts, margins, and overall project financial performance.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, and project resources.
• Ensure effective estimating handoffs, project startup, scheduling, and execution planning.
• Oversee contracts, change management, notices, documentation, and project risk.
• Identify at-risk projects early and help teams resolve cost, schedule, client, and operational issues.
• Drive consistent project controls, forecasting, and operating processes from award through closeout.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven operations leadership in traffic signals, roadway lighting, ITS, utilities, transportation, or similar infrastructure construction.
• Experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, and multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting, scheduling, contracts, change management, and project documentation.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, contracts, estimates, schedules, and cost reports.
• Experience with DOT, county, municipal, heavy highway, traffic signal, ITS, lighting, or utility projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, team development, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Vista, HCSS HeavyJob, Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction systems preferred.
• Design-Build or alternative-delivery experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
