    Position Summary

    The Operations Supervisor - Fixed Route / Payroll supports day-to-day fixed-route service while serving as the primary operations-level coordinator for operator timekeeping and payroll accuracy. The role supervises transit operators, assists with service delivery and field issues, and reviews daily work records to ensure pay-related information accurately reflects assignments, absences, premiums, overtime, and other approved time. This position connects Operations, Scheduling, HR, and Payroll to resolve timekeeping exceptions before payroll is finalized.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day supervision and support to fixed-route operators, including work assignments, policy compliance, performance feedback, customer service, and operational problem-solving.

    • Monitor fixed-route service delivery and assist with pull-out, route coverage, reliefs, detours, incidents, field response, and other service needs as assigned.

    • Review operator time records, daily assignments, attendance information, overtime, premiums, leave entries, and other pay-related data for completeness and accuracy.

    • Reconcile payroll/timekeeping information against dispatch logs, run assignments, schedules, exception reports, and approved documentation.

    • Research and resolve timekeeping discrepancies in coordination with operators, supervisors, Dispatch, Scheduling, Human Resources, and Payroll.

    • Ensure approved pay codes, work rules, contractual entitlements, and company policies are applied consistently and supported by appropriate documentation.

    • Meet payroll deadlines by reviewing exceptions promptly, securing required approvals, and escalating unresolved issues before payroll cutoffs.

    • Maintain accurate records related to time corrections, attendance exceptions, operator assignments, and payroll approvals.

    • Train or coach supervisors and operators on timekeeping expectations, payroll procedures, documentation requirements, and recurring error prevention.

    • Prepare routine reports on overtime, attendance, timekeeping exceptions, payroll corrections, and other operating trends for management review.

    • Support investigations, customer concerns, accidents, incidents, or employee issues within the fixed-route operation as assigned.

    • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information and follow WeDriveU internal-control requirements.

    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, transportation, accounting, human resources, or a related field preferred.

    • Three or more years of transit or transportation operations experience, with supervisory or lead experience preferred.

    • Experience reviewing timekeeping, payroll, scheduling, attendance, or labor data strongly preferred.

    • Working knowledge of fixed-route operations, operator work assignments, overtime, and attendance processes.

    • Strong Excel, data review, documentation, and deadline-management skills.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    Work is performed in an office, transit operations, and/or field environment depending on assignment. The position may require frequent use of computers and transit systems, communication by phone or radio, and interaction with employees, customers, and the public. Some assignments may require travel within the local service area, work around transit vehicles and facilities, and availability outside normal business hours for operational needs. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
