Operations Manager – Warehouse, Logistics & Optimization | Brooklyn, NY · $120K–$150K

About the Role

We're looking for an operations leader, not a floor manager. This person oversees the warehouse and logistics side of a growing wholesale supply business and takes full ownership of how it runs: spotting problems before they spread, fixing them, and making the whole operation faster and more accurate. You'll start in the warehouse working alongside our current warehouse manager, learning the operation from the inside. The goal is for you to grow into running the entire operations division.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Logistics Operations

• Oversee receiving, put-away, picking, packing, checking, and shipping across the full order flow
• Manage carrier relationships and shipping methods so every order goes out correctly and on time
• Keep work accurate and on deadline, and head off receiving and fulfillment backlogs before they start

Process Optimization

• Find what slows the operation down and fix it: layout, workflows, staffing, systems
• Set up metrics for accuracy, speed, and cost, and use them to drive improvement
• Build repeatable processes that let the operation scale

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, train, and develop the team, set clear expectations, and lead from the floor
• Help recruit, onboard, and shape new hires as the operation grows
• Hold people accountable for productivity and accuracy, and get the most out of every person

Inventory & Accuracy

• Keep inventory accurate: properly received, stored, rotated, picked, and accounted for
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, overages, damages, and fulfillment errors
• Enforce checking procedures and run cycle counts to cut recurring mistakes

Safety & Standards

• Enforce safety policies and keep the warehouse clean, organized, and efficient
• Work with management and other departments on operational and shipping issues

Growth Path

• Starts hands-on in the warehouse alongside the current warehouse manager
• Takes on more ownership of logistics, processes, and the team over time
• Grows into leading the full operations division

Qualifications

• Operations, warehouse, or logistics management experience, ideally in wholesale distribution or fulfillment
• A real leader: proven ability to manage, train, and develop a team, not just assign tasks
• Strong command of inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, shipping, and logistics
• An improver: has made an operation measurably faster, cheaper, or more accurate
• Takes full ownership: anticipates problems, solves them independently, and raises the whole team's performance
• Ready to start hands-on and grow into running a division
