Our client, a Banking company, is looking for a Operations Officer II for their Mississauga, ON /Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities: processing high volumes of financial transactions (bank wires), managing shared inbox requests, performing accurate data processing, and supporting money movement operations while delivering service to Corporate, Commercial, and Small Business Banking in a fast paced environment.
  • Who are they interacting with (internal/external): Both 
  • Execute transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/procedures while adhering to formal or informal Service Level Agreement(s) (SLAs)
  • Refer or escalate processing or operational issues as needed based on a solid understanding of the issue, connecting with the appropriate function/partner to facilitate resolution and ensure that service quality is maintained
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery
  • Support partners with incoming transactions, validating information as needed to perform adjustments within authority levels
  • Interact with partners by responding to requests in an effective and timely manner
  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements for service and productivity
  • Understand internal and industry regulations and trends, remain informed of emerging issues and apply appropriate due diligence in adherence with operating policies/procedures
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
  • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes
  • Actively review internal processes/activities and provide ideas for process improvement
  • Investigate and escalate non-standard or high-risk activities as appropriate
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to operations activities for own area (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, Business Continuity Management)
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct
  • Receive requests for information from government agencies, provincial governments, and internal partners at Client. Will be reading documents and performing data entry in the data base. Fetching information and sending back to partners in a timely manner to meet SLAs.
  • Provides a broad range of operational support and/or performs general to specialized transactions and/or other processing activities for own functional area within Operations & Technology.
  • Supports partner relationships and is responsible for maintaining operational effectiveness to ensure business objectives, Service Level Goals and CEI targets are met.
  • Reports to a Team Manager within the Team Structure
  • Positively contribute to the overall customer experience and loyalty index in each interaction - Ensure customer problems are handled appropriately by utilizing the established partner problem resolution process both internally and externally and escalating when required - Create and/or recognize exceptional customer service through established programs - Ensure all required processing and enquiries are fulfilled meeting Service Level Goals - E4Provide subject matter expertise for internal and external partners within defined area
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately & within established standards - Actively participate in daily touch points and work distribution Contribute to the achievement of satisfactory audits by understanding & following audit and process guidelines - Identify areas of risk and escalate as necessary - Be knowledgeable and comply with Bank Codes of Conduct  Identify, suggest and actively participate in process improvements Understand and apply bank/service centre operating policies and procedures Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to change within business area and unit  Adopt new process and technology improvements  Ensure necessary due diligence is taken to support the accuracy of all transactions
 
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of banking/financial institute experience
  • Tech Savvy: ability to learn new software
  • Prior experience with SLAs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365- Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Accountable and responsible individual
  • Bank wire processing experience
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle high volumes of work

  • Understanding of MM and FX Products (eg. Options, Foreign Exchange spots and forwards, Money Market deposits and loans)  Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficiency in Excel is a must, coupled with the ability to learn and apply skills to new software programs. 
  • Knowledge of Global and WSS platforms would be an asset.
  • 2 years experience in a Trade Processing related role, preferably experience with cash products (such as Loans, Deposits, Swaps and Forwards)
