NASC is seeking an Operations Planning and Exercise Support Specialist to support the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of operational exercises and experiments for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, Prototypes & Experiments (DASW P&E). The successful candidate will work closely with government and industry stakeholders to develop and execute exercises, ensuring activities are thoroughly planned, coordinated, and executed effectively.
This position requires a professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment and can work independently while coordinating across multiple organizations and functional areas.
Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and support the execution of operational exercises and experiments.
Develop exercise plans, schedules, objectives, agendas, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with government, military, contractor, and other stakeholder organizations to ensure exercise requirements are understood and met.
Support exercise preparation, execution, monitoring, and after-action activities.
Track actions, milestones, deliverables, and exercise-related requirements.
Identify issues and recommend solutions to improve exercise planning and execution.
Support program and operational management activities as required.
Prepare briefings, reports, and other communications for leadership and stakeholders.
Participate in meetings, planning sessions, rehearsals, and exercise events.
Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to work within a SCIF.
Ability to work onsite in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Must be willing to travel minimum of 25%; travel CONUS and OCONUS
Experience with operations planning, exercise planning, program management, or a related field.
Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively with government and contractor personnel at multiple levels.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior military or other government service.
Experience planning, coordinating, or executing military or government exercises.
Program Management experience.
Experience developing exercise plans, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting after-action reviews.
Familiarity with Department of War operational planning processes.
Clearance Requirement:
Active TS/SCI clearance required.
