Operations Project Manager – Interim Consulting Opportunity

Location: Downtown Portland, OR – 100% Onsite
Duration: Minimum 3–6 Months
Compensation: Competitive hourly consulting rate

We are seeking an experienced Operations Project Manager to support a rapidly growing nonprofit/public sector organization in downtown Portland. This is a high-impact consulting opportunity for a seasoned operations professional who can step into a fast-moving environment, take ownership of critical initiatives, and work closely with executive leadership.

The organization is experiencing significant growth and needs someone who combines senior-level operational experience with a strong project management mindset. A major initial priority will be helping lead the implementation of a new case management system while providing hands-on support across several key business functions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and coordinate a new case management system implementation
• Manage high-priority operational projects from planning through execution
• Support executive leadership with critical day-to-day operational needs
• Oversee workflows involving AP approvals, contracts, grants, and administrative processes
• Review contracts and assist with grant-related initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, organization, and scalability
• Help create structure and operational efficiencies during a period of rapid growth
• Balance strategic project work with hands-on execution as needs arise

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience in operations, project management, or senior operational leadership
• Demonstrated success managing systems implementations and complex cross-functional projects
• Ability to operate independently and confidently alongside executive leadership
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly
• Experience within public sector or a related environment is highly preferred
• Must be available to work onsite five days per week in downtown Portland
