Reporting to the Director, Operations Portfolio Management, the Operations Project Manager will plan, budget oversee, and document all aspects of assigned projects. The Operations Project Manager will work closely with the Production Operations Leadership Team, Process Improvement, and Production Supporting Departments
to make sure that the scope, cost, and timing of each project is developed and tracked.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works directly with Production Leadership, Process Improvement Department, and Production Supporting Departments to identify gaps and/or trends to focus on and develop new projects.
• Defines and tracks project scopes, budgets, timelines, goals, and deliverable that support operational goals in collaboration with Production and Production Support Departments. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Determines/ Follows the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.
• Defines project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout life cycle. Actively participates in process improvement activities. For example but not limited to: Process/Procedure (re)design, Safety efforts, supports implementation of new equipment or processes, and aids emerging leaderships and teams.
WHAT YOU NEED
Experience and/or Education: By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. Bachelor’s degree preferred. High School/GED required. 5+ years’ experience required. Experience with FDA, ISO and/or cGMP standards preferred. Experience in building and leading high-performance teams is desirable.
• Language Ability: Employee is able to read and understand written directions in English, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. The employee follows instructions, both verbal and written, and communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow employees.
• Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure used in the Maintenance Department, using whole numbers and decimals.
• Reasoning and Mechanical Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Must be well organized and systematic in work processes, possess excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with groups and in the conduct of
meetings.
