Are you someone who likes being the person that holds the whole operation together? Do you take pride in running a tight ship—knowing where every product is, making sure every visitor feels taken care of, and keeping the paperwork airtight? If so, we want to meet you.

Grit One is looking for an Operations & Logistics Coordinator to join our team at our port and maritime terminal. This role is a great fit for someone with a background in scale operations, shipping and receiving, or logistics coordination who wants to grow their career—including hands-on training in SAP Business One and exposure to accounts receivable and payable functions.

No two days are the same here. You'll be managing incoming and outgoing trucks and vessel traffic, owning on-site inventory accuracy, processing Bills of Lading, and serving as the go-to point of contact for everyone who walks through our gates. It's a high-visibility role where your attention to detail and customer service attitude directly impact how Midwest Salt shows up.

What You'll Do

As our Operations & Logistics Coordinator at Grit One, you'll be responsible for the full scope of site-level operations—from the moment a truck rolls in to the moment inventory records are reconciled. Your day-to-day will include:

Site Operations & Scale Management

• Operate facility scales accurately and in compliance with all company procedures

• Manage daily incoming and outgoing traffic flow for trucks, vendors, vessel crew, and site visitors

• Process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Bill of Material production schedules

• Plan and communicate daily activity schedules; flag and escalate exceptions in real time

• Perform site-level reporting and serve as the frontline communications liaison for Grit One

• Assist with on-site Operations functions as coverage needs require

Visitor & Customer Experience

• Deliver an exceptional “Wow” experience for every visitor—truck drivers, customers, vendors, vessel crew, and third-party service teams

• Be the professional, knowledgeable face of Midwest Salt at the terminal level

• Identify service gaps and recommend process improvements to your LMA

Inventory Control

• Own the accuracy of on-site inventory using SAP

• Coordinate product loading and shipping on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis to protect product integrity

• Conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain audit-ready records

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Support

• Assist with site-level AR functions: invoice verification, payment documentation, and customer account follow-up

• Support AP workflows including vendor invoice matching, coding, and processing in coordination with the accounting team

• Maintain accurate financial records for site operations

SAP Business One & Systems

• Learn and use SAP for inventory transactions, receiving, shipping confirmations, and financial support

• Ensure all system data is accurate, timely, and consistent with company procedures

Safety & Continuous Improvement

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA procedures; model safe behaviors for all site visitors and personnel

• Complete all assigned learning paths and apply knowledge to daily work

• Actively contribute ideas to improve processes, service, and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in scale operations, shipping and receiving, logistics coordination, or a similar operations role

• Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail—you catch errors before they become problems

• Comfortable learning enterprise systems; SAP experience is a plus, and full training is provided

• Basic understanding of accounts receivable and/or accounts payable processes

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)

• Strong communication skills—you're working with drivers, crew, vendors, and internal teams every day

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site industrial/port environment

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or some college preferred

• Valid driver's license

You'll stand out if you have...

• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP (NetSuite, Epicor, or Infor)

• Background in bulk material distribution—salt, aggregates, grain, or similar commodity industries

• Maritime, port, or freight terminal experience

• Working knowledge of Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping documentation
