POSITION TITLE:     Operations Specialist, Muni SMADEPARTMENT:          Managed Accounts

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree. Bachelor's degree in business related major (Finance/Accounting) preferred. Experience in financial services or relevant classwork; two years of financial services industry experience in trade settlements preferred. Knowledge of domestic equity and fixed income settlement functions; familiarity with sponsor systems is a plus.

MAJOR DUTIES:

The Operations Specialist will be responsible for the daily trade support and reconciliation, data integrity verification, customer service to both internal and external clients, client onboarding and new account initialization, and data and client reporting. The position requires the ability to work independently, and responsibilities will be both specialized and general and will be dynamic in nature based on the activity of the department.

Research and resolve cash and position breaks. Maintenance of the various Portfolio Accounting and CRM Systems (Advent Axys, Perform, Salesforce, etc.) through the updating of other client data (such as restrictions, choice of strategy, and status codes). Reconcile daily trade settlement cycle including electronic trade confirmation, web-based settlement instruction maintenance, resolution of unmatched trades, fail trade tracking and elevating notices of fails due to short positions. Monitor internal and external trade routing and delivery including allocation delivery to custodians and brokers. Process client onboarding documents including questionnaires, investment policy statements, and other documents submitted by the client and in accordance with written Federated Hermes suitability standards/procedures. Setup new accounts on the Portfolio Accounting Systems, as well as on CRM system, which includes manual as well as automated data entry. Coordinate "first day of trading" for new accounts through communication with the Sponsor and/or SMA Trading Desk. Assist in the review, identification, and correction of anomalies in critical data points on all SMA recordkeeping systems. Escalate to supervisor any recurring data integrity issues and support management in addressing and correcting. Monitor voluntary corporate actions and reorganizations for all securities. Ensure security data is updated accordingly to reflect pre-refunding/ call notices. Participate in suggesting enhancements to recordkeeping systems that would increase efficiency and improve data integrity. Ensure that client inquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner.  Cash requests and account maintenance at custodians. Ensure the accuracy of cost basis information to CWH Trading Desk Process Financial Consultant/Sponsor requests for marketing materials, performance history, etc.

7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST (overtime as required) Location - Chicago, IL  60654 (hybrid in-office work schedule)

The annual base salary range for this position is $63,000 - $85,000. In determining salary multiple factors will be taken into consideration such as primary work location, experience, education and skill set. In addition to base salary, this position includes eligibility for a bonus.
