The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven leader who is passionate about developing people and driving performance. The Operations Superintendent role is responsible for leading a team, fostering culture of growth and accountability, and ensuring operational excellence through strong KPI management. This role leads our B Crew team in Sellersburg, Indiana and is responsible for overseeing night shift operations. The ideal candidate is an innovative, data driven leader who is committed to continuous learning and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. 

What You’ll Do

  • Business Management: Assess, guide, manage, and prioritize as needed all aspects of the shop floor operation. Adhere to production schedules to meet customer requirements. Lead department meetings, support and promote continual improvement projects.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage the shift supervisors while directing the shop floor operations in a manner that promotes high morale, teamwork, pride, productivity, and quality. Communicate with Supervisors by continually updating them on information affecting the efficient and safe operation of the shop floor.
  • Quality, Problem Solving & Reporting: Comply to all company directed policies and procedures developed by the quality system. Adhere to all quality requirements as outlined in the control plans.
  • Customer & Supplier Relationships: Support customer and Emotiv presentations as they relate to items of production responsibility.
  • Safety & Other Duties: Foster a safety-first environment to achieve safety goals and objectives for the facility. Comply with corporate, State, and Federal health, safety and environmental regulations. Adhere to and promote the Vision and Culture Operating Philosophy and observe the rules, regulation and direction of the Employee Handbook. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Demonstrated success in building employee capability and preparing team members for advancement succession 
  • Hands-on experience with continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. process improvements, efficiency gains, Lean/Six Sigma projects, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of KPI, including tracking, interpreting data, and driving performance improvements
  • Ability to use data to identify gaps, implement solutions, and deliver measurable results

Who You Are

  • Bachelor degree in a manufacturing or management discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in automotive/JIT/sequencing assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills.

Health, Safety, Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer.
  • Up to 5% travel required; valid driver’s license required.
