Operations Supervisor Onsite, Maywood, IL | Full-Time | Salaried (Exempt) Typical schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Aetna Building Solutions is hiring a hands-on Operations Supervisor for our Maywood branch. This is a working supervisor role. You'll be on the warehouse floor every day with the team: running a forklift, receiving freight, pulling orders, and loading trucks. You'll also keep the daily operation moving. You'll work closely with the Operations Manager and learn every part of the branch, and you'll step in to lead the site when the manager is out. If you lead by example and like to stay busy, we'd like to talk with you. What You'll Do - Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to receive, put away, move, and stage product
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, making sure loads are built correctly, secured, and documented
- Receive inbound freight, check it against purchase orders, and process receipts in our ERP system
- Pull, stage, and verify orders for delivery and will-call
- Cover any warehouse role as needed to hit daily receiving and shipping goals
- Direct the flow of work on the floor and set the standard for pace, quality, and safety
- Run the site when the Operations Manager is unavailable
- Help with production, dispatch, and facilities as needed
- Work with Inside Sales, Purchasing, and Product Management to keep customer orders on track
- Help with cycle counts, keep inventory accurate, and suggest ways to improve how the warehouse runs
What We're Looking For - 4–6 years of hands-on experience in warehouse, distribution, or operations
- Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or acting management role is preferred
- Building materials, lumber, industrial distribution, or wholesale experience is a plus
- Forklift experience preferred (we provide certification training)
- Comfortable doing physical warehouse work every day and leading by example
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices; familiarity with DOT regulations is preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
Physical Requirements - Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of trucks and trailers for extended periods
- Work on loading docks and in areas without climate control
Compensation & Benefits Include - $65,000 - $75,000 per year. Compensation is based on job experience, skills, education, training, and more to be determined at time of offer.
