    Overview

    The successful candidate must provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of 4-8 manufacturing technicians. An essential part of this job is the successful performance of the teams safety, quality of work, cost, schedule, and continuous improvement. Effective communication, leadership, creating a positive team environment with employees and peers is key to success for the selected candidate.

    The position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boats business. This is a great opportunity for someone with engineering, machining, or electrical trade work experience to further their career in leadership and manufacturing.

    Responsibilities

    • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shift work and overtime may be required.
    • The candidate must possess strong causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, computer literacy, and writing skills.
    • Manage, mentor, and train crew of electrically and mechanically trained personnel.
    • Displays good organizational, presentation, and leadership qualities.
    • Proficiency and strong understanding of EBOS and EVMS.
    • Possess knowledge of Planning, Construction, and Testing activities.
    • Ability to plan and prepare mock-ups for improved performance and identifying roadblocks.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • 3+ years of experience in an mechanical / trades / construction / maintenance or manufacturing environment

    Preferred:

    • AS/BS/Technical School
    • 2+ years of Supervision experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or marine environment
    • Experience in Mechanical processes and torque wrenches and machinist operations
    • Experience in Flex Hose installation and basic pipefitting
