Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead field operations with a strong focus on safety, leadership, and fleet management. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving performance, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring fleet reliability in a fast-paced rail environment.

You will work closely with the General Manager and have direct influence over team performance, safety culture, and day-to-day operational success. This position may occasionally require filling in for employee vacancies as operational needs arise. On-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop drivers and service technicians
• Drive a strong safety culture through audits, training, and real-time coaching
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure full compliance with OSHA and company policies
• Oversee fleet performance, including inspections, maintenance scheduling, and DOT compliance
• Ensure all vehicles are safe, fully stocked, and operationally ready
• Troubleshoot and coordinate preventive maintenance and minor repairs
• Manage daily operations, schedules, and service delivery across assigned rail yards
• Maintain working knowledge of routes, contractual, and customer requirements
• Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
• Track and complete all operational reporting (safety, fleet, inventory)
• Serve as a key point of contact for employees, management, and customers

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership experience supervising field teams
• Strong background in fleet management, transportation, or logistics
• Class A or B CDL (Prefered)
• 3+ years of commercial driving experience
• Working knowledge of safety programs, DOT/OSHA compliance
• Mechanically inclined with basic equipment knowledge
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to lead from the front in a hands-on environment

Physical & Work Environment

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Climb trucks and ladders; work on uneven terrain
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a drug screen, fitness exam, and background check
