Description

Operations Technician - $15.00/HOUR to $28.00/HOUR BOE

We are seeking dependable and motivated Operations Technicians to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of wastewater treatment and plumbing-related systems. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and providing exceptional customer service. Training is available for entry-level candidates, while experienced plumbing professionals will have opportunities to perform more advanced technical work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain wastewater treatment and remediation equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plumbing and treatment systems.
  • Assist with system startups, testing, and operational checks.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals as needed.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other job-related equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members regarding service work and project updates.
  • Participate in on-call or emergency service work as required.

Qualifications

Entry-Level Technicians ($15–18/hour)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.

Experienced Technicians ($18–22/hour)

  • Previous plumbing or related mechanical experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with piping systems, pumps, valves, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Journeyman Technicians ($22–28/hour)

  • Current Plumbing Journeyman License required.
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems, installation techniques, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to lead projects, mentor junior technicians, and perform complex troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and performing physical labor throughout the workday.
