As an Operations Training Instructor I, you will be the primary hands-on educator for our field teams, ensuring every technician is equipped with the vital skills needed for safe and efficient gas operations. By delivering engaging classroom and practical training, you will build the technical foundation for our workforce and ensure we remain fully compliant with all safety and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do
Deliver classroom and hands-on training covering core and advanced gas utility operations and safety protocols
Assist in updating training manuals and job aids to reflect current regulations and company procedures
Evaluate employee performance during sessions and provide direct, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate training records to ensure 100% compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations
Support onboarding for new hires and facilitate ongoing qualification programs
Collaborate with leadership to identify training gaps and recommend program improvements
Stay current on industry standards, regulatory changes, and new utility technologies
Perform other tasks as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in gas construction, pipeline replacement, or utility operations
Strong technical knowledge of gas pipeline systems, distribution, and emergency procedures
Foundational understanding of DOT Part 192, OSHA, and PHMSA regulations
Effective communication skills with the ability to lead engaging classroom and field sessions
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Ability to assess performance and provide actionable feedback to trainees
Certifications preferred such as OQ Evaluator or OSHA Trainer
Ability to travel to various company locations for training delivery

Work Environment
Work is performed in a 50% office and 50% field work at warehouse and construction sites
Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
Legal Stuff
