About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing (Machine Operator, Subway Packing) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. In this role, you will operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure a consistent flow of finished goods, accurate labeling, and compliance with food safety, quality, and production standards.

Shift & Schedule
  • Shift: 3rd
  • Hours: 10PM - 6:30AM
  • Weekend availability: Required
Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
  • Operate and monitor packing, labeling, and metal detection equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient packaging
  • Ensure products meet all food safety, legality, and quality specifications, including HACCP and GMP requirements
  • Maintain a consistent flow of finished goods to palletizing and shipping operations
  • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, adjustments, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and waste
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Shipping teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area to support safe operations
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math, timekeeping, and documentation skills
  • Ability to make logical decisions in a production environment
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and changing production schedules
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience operating packaging or automated production equipment
  • Familiarity with metal detectors, labeling systems, and case packing equipment
  • Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety practices
  • Experience training or supporting other operators
