JOB SUMMARYThe primary responsibility of this position will be to ensure only quality-approved products are packaged for the customer. This includes loading plastic charges, inspects compression molded product, stacks shingles, labels and skids finished product. The goal will be to help keep the extrusion lines running or the molding machines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSComply with Safety Policies and ProceduresReceiving and loading plastic charges (400F) into compression molds.Keep up with 4-5 compression molds, each cycle averages 22 seconds.Maintain less than 5% shorts (loading charges correctly).Reads Production Schedule boards and performs work as assigned by shift supervisorInspects, feeds, and/or packs product for Work In Process (WIP) or finished productDetect quality defects in molded parts, trim the molded part and assemble the molded partEnsure that product has appropriate Lot Information printed on each productAttach appropriate labels to bundlesNotify supervisor of any safety, quality, mechanical, or material issuesCompletes production documentationPerform other duties as assigned by the Shift SupervisorNotify Management/Supervisor of any quality or equipment issuesRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Work eight to twelve-hour shiftPerform tasks as defined in Standard Work InstructionsMust perform basic math functionsDistinguish colors visuallyBasic literacy skills required to clearly and legibly complete required paperworkTeamwork OrientationEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade preferred1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant fieldESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTMust be able to work standing for up to 8-12 hours/shift.Must be able to kneel, squat, bend/twist at the waist, and stack parts at or above head heightMust have full range of motion (ROM) of shoulders, knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and hands to inspect, pack, and stack finished partsMust be able to complete repetitive tasks to keep up with cycle times as fast as every 30 secondsMust be able to wear compliant ear protection if and when, working in areas exposed to noise levels above OSHA threshold limitsMust be able to work in hot environments (Especially summer months) that can exceed 100FWear all required personal protective equipment (Safety toe shoes, ANSI Z87 eye protection, CR gloves)Lift/move/transport items up to 50 poundsAbility to move or traverse about the facilitiesMust be able to ascend/descend stairs or laddersAbility to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditionsWestlake offers you the potential to enrich your work life and career experience in an entrepreneurial environment.
