Overview:

This position is responsible for operating a group of compression molding and de-flashing machines while assuring acceptable levels of quality and productivity. This position works under regular supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures
  • Assures that the presses have proper QA authorization or licenses to operate
  • Uses motorized equipment to bring molding compound to the presses
  • Examines or inspects quality of the parts according to department processes and standards; checks for surface defects, excessive flash, scratches, and breakage
  • Gauges critical dimension of parts to assure they conform to specifications
  • Documents molding information on press charts
  • Moves parts from press area to de-flashing area; inspects parts upon completion of de-flashing process
  • Assists the Packaging Work Cell Leader in determining the availability of parts to ensure effective production scheduling and implementation
  • Performs material handling duties as necessary
  • Follows housekeeping guidelines to keep work area clean, neat, and orderly
  • Takes corrective measures to eliminate production of defective parts and makes minor mechanical adjustments such as volumetric material adjustments on feed boards
  • Empties containers of molded parts into packaging machines as required
  • May be required to transfer palleted material within the production area using a manual pallet jack
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical adjustments
  • Ability to move your hand(s), your hand(s) together with your arm(s), or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Ability to complete a Powered Industrial Truck training offered by the organization
  • Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or related mechanical, preferred
Travel:
  • Up to 1% may be required
