Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operator I to support the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will work under close supervision and perform routine assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical device components, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related assemblies. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with small components, following detailed procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assembly, repair, and testing of medical device components.
Follow standardized procedures, work instructions, and verbal instructions.
Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality documentation.
Ensure parts are properly identified and traceable.
Use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
Handle and maneuver small components with precision and accuracy.
Follow all safety procedures and use required safety equipment.
Communicate production issues, ideas, and solutions effectively.
Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
Support Lean Manufacturing activities and production goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area.
Support Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Prioritize work based on production requirements and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures.
Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
Basic computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to work with small components and parts.
Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to make routine decisions with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience
Medical device manufacturing or assembly experience.
Catheter, pacemaker, ICD, or similar medical-device experience.
Cleanroom or regulated manufacturing experience.
Lean Manufacturing experience.
Quality documentation and product traceability.
Experience with electronic production/data collection systems.
Work Environment & Dress Requirements This position requires working in a controlled manufacturing environment with strict cleanliness and safety requirements.
Clean, non-shedding clothing must be worn.
Clothing must be free of loose threads, frayed hems, tassels, glitter, sequins, or similar materials.
Sweaters, fleece, loose-knit, and loose-fiber garments are not permitted.
Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are required.
Shoes must have heels no higher than 2 inches.
Socks or stockings are required.
Torso, upper arms, and legs must be covered.
Sleeveless tops and short shirts are not permitted.
Nail polish, artificial nails, makeup, and eyelash extensions are not permitted.
Jewelry or piercings that cannot be safely covered are not permitted.
Hats, scarves, and bandanas are not permitted under the bouffant unless specifically approved.
Loose-fitting clothing is not permitted around machinery or equipment.
