    Job Purpose

    The Blend Operator I is responsible for accurately mixing and blending all powder ingredients into blends by using various food handling equipment in a clean food safe environment.

    Essential Duties

    • Read work orders to determine production specifications or information for blends.
    • Learn to use the ERP system to properly consume material, identify material, and complete certain blend processes.
    • Accurately and properly fill out any related documentation needed for the blend process using scales in grams and or Kilos.
    • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements set by the work order.
    • Mix or blend ingredients using industrial equipment such as a Munson blender, Comils, Tote tumblers, Etc.
    • Follow all SOP's and cGMP requirements.
    • Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.
    • Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.
    • Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently and 75 + pounds with assistance, daily.
    • Ability to lift, twist, crawl, reach, grab, bend, stoop, climb, or perform similar activities as needed and stand for long periods.
    • Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, pallet stackers, standing and riding forklifts.
    • Willing to work overtime as necessary.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Education:

    • High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.

    Experience:

    • Prioritization and time management skills
    • Working quickly without compromising quality
    • In a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.

    Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the cGMP
    • Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.
