Title: Operator I
Location: St. Paul, MN - 55117
Duration: 06 Months of Contract + possible extension
Shift: Monday to Friday (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
PayRate: $18.75/hr
Position Summary
As an Operator I, you'll work under direct supervision, performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure job documentation for cell operations/functions is accurate and current
Apply troubleshooting and interpersonal skills (conflict resolution, active listening, cooperation, flexibility) within a self-managed team
Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions clearly to all levels of manufacturing management, written and verbal
Represent the company positively during facility tours
Support and follow company policies and procedures
Maintain a positive attitude with internal and external customers
Follow all safety guidelines and use required safety devices
Participate in continuous improvement/quality initiatives to support production quality and profitability
Perform routine/preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
Maintain accurate traveler and quality documentation to ensure part traceability and quality resolution
Demonstrate basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
Partner with Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager on individual and cell performance goals
Support divisional QMS, EMS, and regulatory compliance initiatives
Qualifications Required:
Reads, comprehends, and follows written procedures at a 7th-grade level; follows verbal instructions at a 7th-grade level
Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and computer software
Able to prioritize and sequence work by precedence and importance
Able to handle and maneuver small components/parts
Able to make critical decisions with minimal supervision
Able to use a microscope 50 90% of the workday, depending on line assignment
6+ months experience in a medical or other regulated production environment
Prior medical device, manufacturing, or assembly experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Willing to work OT on Fridays/Saturdays as needed
Dress Code
Clean, non-shedding clothing no loose fibers, frays, glitter, sequins, or detachable items
Full coverage of torso, upper arms, and legs; must fit under required lab coat/gown
No sweaters, fleece, sleeveless tops, short skirts, above-ankle pants, or loose clothing
Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with socks/stockings; no sandals, clogs, slippers, or heels over 2"
No makeup, nail polish, artificial nails, strong fragrances, or unsafe jewelry/piercings
Religious/cultural head coverings permitted if fully covered by required PPE
Open wounds must be bandaged
Professional, clean, non-offensive appearance at all times
