A significant portion of the work may involve microscope use—approximately 50% to 90% of the workday depending on line assignment. Candidates who are comfortable with detailed, repetitive work and have strong hand-eye coordination are encouraged to apply.

Previous medical device experience is preferred but not required, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with transferable manufacturing or assembly skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and repetitive assembly and manufacturing operations under direct supervision.
  • Handle and maneuver small components and parts with accuracy and care.
  • Use a microscope for approximately 50%–90% of the workday, depending on production line assignment.
  • Follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal directions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job documentation for manufacturing cell operations.
  • Ensure traveler and quality documentation is complete and accurate to maintain product traceability.
  • Use electronic data collection systems and applicable computer software.

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on applicable equipment and tools.
  • Identify basic production issues and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Communicate production problems, ideas, and potential solutions clearly to team members and manufacturing management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Apply basic Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Support team goals and manufacturing cell performance metrics.
  • Work collaboratively within a self-managed team environment.
  • Support applicable Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with coworkers, management, and facility visitors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written manufacturing procedures.

  • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on production needs and importance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work the required 5:00 AM–3:30 PM shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ months of experience in medical device manufacturing or another regulated production environment.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or assembly experience.
  • Previous medical device experience.
  • Previous experience using a microscope for assembly or inspection.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays based on business needs.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing role involving small components, detailed assembly activities, repetitive tasks, and extended microscope use. Depending on the production line, employees may spend the majority of their shift working under magnification.

Employees must follow established safety, quality, cleanliness, and dress requirements. Clothing must be clean, professional, non-shedding, and compatible with required lab coats or gowns. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes with socks or stockings are required.
