Accountabilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis and make informed decisions on job details and emergencies
  • Maintain and account for tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles
  • Complete daily job safety inspection sheets and accurately read meters
  • Perform leak repairs, mains maintenance, fire hydrant management, new service installations, meter changes, and service repairs
  • Keep the direct Supervisor informed of field customer service issues and needs
  • Utilize PC tablets for field service applications and process service orders efficiently
  • Operate hand and power tools, as well as mechanical equipment, during various tasks such as installing, operating, and repairing mains, services, meters, valves, and fire hydrants
  • Assist in shutdowns, repairs, disinfection, and restoration of water service to customers
  • Oversee and direct contractors as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Experience working in the water utility industry, plumbing industry, or similar mechanical experience
  • Hold or willingness to obtain an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution license
  • Valid Arizona drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows operations knowledge, and experience with communication devices
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Afternoon Shift: 1pm-9pm
