Production Operator - Food Seasoning Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Operator to support the manufacturing of dry food seasonings, spice blends, and ingredient mixes. The ideal candidate will operate production equipment, accurately weigh and blend ingredients, package finished products, and maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate blending, mixing, filling, and packaging equipment according to production schedules.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and stage raw ingredients following batch records and formulas.
• Monitor equipment performance and make minor adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Package finished products into bags, pouches, containers, or bulk packaging according to specifications.
• Complete production documentation, batch records, and equipment logs accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of production equipment and work areas following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Perform equipment cleaning and sanitation between product changeovers.
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, and sanitation procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions, product discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with inventory movement, material handling, and other production-related tasks as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals and customer deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred, preferably in a food production environment.
• Experience following written work instructions, recipes, or batch records.
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately weigh and measure ingredients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and food safety.
• Forklift experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to spices, seasonings, powders, dust, varying temperatures, and food-grade cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hairnets, beard nets, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Experience operating blending, mixing, or packaging equipment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment while meeting production and quality goals.
