Operator, Thermal Processing

Role summary:This person will report directly to the Production Operations Manager and will be responsible for the operation of their assigned production/pilot heat treatment equipment. In the role of Thermal Processing Operator, you will be joining a world-class Production team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems.This position is fully onsite working at our Riverside facility in Chattanooga, TN.Available shifts include:• A Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday• B Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday• C Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday • D Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Thursday through Saturday and every other WednesdayResponsibilities include:• Monitors furnace through reading gauges and an HMI or PLC• Collects samples and delivers to laboratory for analysis • Operates a forklift or pallet jack to move materials around the production area• Documents data in Excel spreadsheet• Follows SOPs and safety procedures (willing to comply with Safety guidelines regarding NOVONIX's facial hair policy to be free from facial hair or clean shaven in accordance with the respiratory program requirements for half-face and full-face respirators)• Assists in the replacement of parts and preventative maintenance• Maintains logs• Identifies potential issues with assigned equipment• Maintains clean work area• Assists and supports management in commissioning and startup of new equipment• Other duties as assignedYou are:• A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative • Well organized and invested in the details • Able to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization • Action-oriented • Resourceful when it comes to solving problems• Intellectually curious • Passionate about continuous improvement • A critical thinker able to manage complex information and troubleshoot• A problem solver• Able to develop, schedule, plan, implement and executive projects• Confident and able to exercise sound judgment• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing environments • An effective communicator • Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done and satisfy customers/stakeholders • Comfortable working and thinking independently while successful working with remote teams• Comfortable climbing flights of stairs• Able to comply with our Safety guidelines and wear a half face respirator (when needed), which requires you to be clean shaven and your face clear of facial hair• Proficient with oral and written communicationExtra awesome if you also have these skills: • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and digital data entry• At least one (1) year forklift experience
