    The CNC Operator position supports API’s mission by responsibly setting up, operating, and maintaining both automated and manual machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses, to produce precision metal parts and components according to mechanical drawings, schematics, or engineering specifications.


    Note: Swing-shift schedule: M - F, 2:15 PM to 10:45 PM.


    A typical day:

    • Review drawings, instructions, mechanical drawings, or samples to ensure accurate production.
    • Set up parts with fixtures or proper work holding.
    • Set up and preset various tools for job-specific applications.
    • Take precise measurements for cutting.
    • Maintains inventory of completed products.
    • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
    • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

    The ideal candidate requires the following:

    • CNC Operator with 2 or more years of experience in maintaining lathe/milling machines.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Basic knowledge of machine shop tools and equipment.
    • Familiarity with establishment safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
    • Efficient written and verbal communication skills.
    • Intermediate math skills.
    • Basic computer skills.

    We highly prefer the following:

    • Forklift experience.
    • Machinist-level course.
