Your ImpactThe OpEx Controller is responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting in all aspects of financial reporting and analysis. This includes preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, designing and reviewing controls, conducting analysis to support decision‑making, and managing the payroll, AP, treasury, and close processes. The OpEx Controller will also be responsible for designing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.What You'll DoDevelop and implement processes to monitor and control operational expensesLead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow in compliance with GAAPProvide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and other stakeholdersConduct in‑depth variance analysis to understand and explain differences between actual and budgeted financial results, and provide recommendations for improvementCollaborate with other departments to support the overall financial health of the organization, and provide financial analysis and guidance to support decision‑makingIdentify, implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulationsManage and identify risks within the internal control environment and proactively improve processes and controls to respond to risksMonitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for daily operationsEnsure compliance with local, state and federal financial regulationsEvaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processesManage a team of accounting professionals and provide guidance, training, and support as neededLead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growthAssist with special projects as needed, such as due diligence for potential acquisitions or implementing new accounting standardsCoordinate and manage external and internal audits, liaising with auditors to provide necessary informationImplement recommendations from auditors to enhance financial processes and controlsStay up‑to‑date with developments in the accounting and finance industry, and provide guidance on new accounting standards and best practicesWho You AreBachelor's degree in accounting or financeAt least 10 years of experience in accountingBig4 public accounting experienceProven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management roleMinimum 2 years of team management experienceStrong knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAPActive CPA license preferredStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on controls and process‑improvementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSelf‑starter with “Can‑do” attitude and strong connection to team successProficiency in financial reporting software, as well as Microsoft Office and Google SuiteEven Better If You HaveNetSuite or ADP accounting system experiencePrior experience in fast moving/innovative SaaS technology environmentAuthorization to Work in the U.S.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
