Ophthalmic Clinic Receptionist

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $17-$18/hour DOE

We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Ophthalmic Clinic Receptionist to join a busy, patient-focused ophthalmology practice. This role is ideal for someone with prior medical or ophthalmic office experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing excellent patient care and customer service.

As the first point of contact for patients, the Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient office experience while supporting daily clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
  • Answer and manage multi-line phone systems professionally and efficiently
  • Schedule appointments and respond to patient questions and concerns
  • Verify insurance coverage and process related documentation
  • Pull authorizations as needed for patient services and procedures
  • Update and verify patient demographics accurately within the EMR system
  • Maintain organized electronic patient records and documentation
  • Coordinate with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinic staff to support smooth patient flow
  • Collect co-pays and process patient payments
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, faxing, and email correspondence

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a vision care clinic required
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology terminology and procedures preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing processes
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor with excellent attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Full-Time Opportunity
  • $18–$20/hour DOE
