Work Environment
This role is based in a busy retina clinic environment that is considered a premier facility and operates at a very fast pace, seeing 80-100 patients per day. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts falling between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on clinic needs; starting at the earliest time or working until the latest time is rare and typically occurs only when the clinic is extremely busy. Initial training takes place at an administrative building, after which the technician works as part of a team of 8-24 staff members supporting each physician. Employees are assigned to three primary clinics, with a home clinic in a high-volume location and occasional support at other clinics as needed. Schedules are provided two weeks in advance, and mileage is reimbursed when traveling to clinics outside the primary three locations for rare training or support needs. The environment is highly collaborative, focused on high-quality retina care and cutting-edge clinical research, with opportunities for career growth and continued education. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, short and well-groomed nails, and hair that is fully tied back to maintain a professional and safe clinical appearance.
