PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promptly and professionally assists the doctor in patient care.
  • Performs technical workups, patient interviews and special testing.
  • Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc.
  • Maintains and cleans all equipment being used, and reports to supervisor if not in working condition.
  • Returns phone calls to patients and pharmacies.
  • Assists in minor surgery.
  • Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories.
  • Accurately performs the following: refractions, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, visual fields, amsler, muscle testing, pupil exams, and topography
  • Scribes readily when doctor desires.
  • Performs testing - IOL, Bscan, Immersion, Fundus, OCT, Visual Fields)

Cleans and stocks rooms as assigned

Requirements Include

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Certified ophthalmic technician preferred
  • Previous experience preferred
