    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations.
    • Obtain detailed medical histories, including symptoms, medications, and previous eye treatments.
    • Perform basic ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity and applanation tonometry.
    • Administer ophthalmic medications, including eye drops, as directed by the physician.
    • Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
    • Utilize aseptic technique to maintain a clean and sterile clinical environment.
    • Prepare examination rooms between patients and ensure supplies and equipment are fully stocked.
    • Promote a positive, patient-centered culture that reflects the organization's values.
    • Collaborate effectively with physicians and team members to provide outstanding patient care.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.

    Experience

    • One to two years of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is preferred but not required.
    • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred but not required.
    • Previous ophthalmology or specialty clinic experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
    • Manual dexterity to perform precise clinical tasks and work with delicate ophthalmic instruments.
    • Ability to occasionally lift and move medical equipment and supplies.

    Travel Requirements

    This position includes travel to our satellite clinics. After completing initial training in Salem, team members participate in a rotating schedule providing support at our locations in Albany, Corvallis, and Newberg. Travel typically occurs one to two days per week. All travel time and mileage are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
