Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmologist to join our growing medical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular diseases and conditions, perform surgical procedures, and deliver exceptional patient care. Candidates must be bilingual and able to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye examinations.
Diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the eye and visual system.
Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans.
Perform ophthalmic surgeries and laser procedures as needed.
Evaluate and manage medical and surgical eye emergencies.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options.
Collaborate with optometrists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Adhere to all clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.
Minimum Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program.
Fellowship training (preferred but not required).
Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of employment.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain before employment).
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred; exceptional new graduates will be considered.
Strong diagnostic and surgical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Must be bilingual (English/Spanish or be willing to learn).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cataract, glaucoma, retinal, or refractive surgery.
Experience using advanced ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
Fellowship training in a subspecialty.
Experience serving multicultural and diverse patient populations.
