Duties and Responsibilities:

The APP would be expected to complete the following under physician direction and within the credentialing standards of the Hospital:

  • Assess and manage ICU patients with complex medical problems.
  • Required Procedural skills: arterial catheters, central venous catheters, temporary hemodialysis catheter. All other procedures are optional and not required.
  • Required experience in management of complex medical, surgical, neurosurgical and cardiovascular ICU patients.
  • Required basic understanding of mechanical ventilation including non-invasive ventilation.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary round with the ICU team.

Schedule Details:

  • Ability to provide in-hospital coverage on a rotating shift basis.
  • 14 (12-hour shifts required per month

Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience as an APRN or PA in Critical Care, that are willing to work in all three units
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification (Required
  • Board Certification through NCCPA, ANCC or AACN
  • Experience with mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella and IABP preferred, but not required.
  • BLS, ACLS, CALS, FCCS, certifications or eligible
