MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current employee of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be fluent in the English language: reading, writing, speaking
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays if needed
- Must have basic computer skills, including in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year of experience in a health care setting in a business office setting
- Experience working in a nursing home or long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility
- Experience working in a Medical A/R; Medicaid/Medicare eligibility and insurance processes
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent works under the supervision of Business Manager II and is responsible for processing Medicaid applications to meet the individual needs of residents.
- Interviews residents, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to assist with financial needs
- Demonstrate strong auditing, investigative, research, and organizational skills, as well as having up-to-date knowledge of the Florida Medicaid program and be able to accurately apply software programs needed to complete investigations and audits
- Process information with HMO or third-party insurance for Medicare and Medicaid
- Assist in the admissions process as needed
- Provide tours to the facility for prospective residents and families
- Assist in application process for new admissions
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
