The Elementary Behavior Coach at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School is a vital role responsible for ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for our PreK-5 students. The primary objective of this position is to support student behavior to enhance overall academic achievement. This is a 10-month OPS appointment that begins on August 3, 2026.

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:

The primary objective of this position is to support student behavior to enhance overall academic achievement.

  • Lead and facilitate restorative practices that build positive relationships, strengthen school culture, and promote student accountability.

  • Collaborate with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team to develop, implement, monitor, and refine proactive behavioral interventions and supports for students.

  • Develop and implement proactive strategies that prevent behavioral challenges through relationship-building, skill development, and positive behavior supports.

  • Support teachers with classroom management, behavior intervention strategies, and resources that foster inclusive, engaging, and productive learning environments.

  • Build strong partnerships with families and caregivers through proactive communication, collaboration, and shared problem-solving to support student success.

  • Produce and monitor student behavior data to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and collaborate with staff to adjust supports as needed. 

  • Complete required data entry and reporting related to school safety and security, including discipline reports and SESIR reports, to track and monitor behavioral trends.

  • Provide proactive supervision and student support across classrooms, common areas, arrival and dismissal, and other campus activities to promote a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with the School Safety Officer, School Resource Officer (SRO), and school administration to support school safety initiatives, implement emergency procedures, and promote student well-being.

  • Serve as a member of the Elementary Leadership Team, partnering with administrators and staff to advance school-wide initiatives, continuous improvement, and a positive school climate.

Expected Salary:

$21-$24 / Commensurate with experience & education

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

Experience with PreK-5 supervision that includes strategizing as appropriate in maintaining a safe and respectful campus.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication.
